The giraffe browses on the twigs of trees, preferring plants of the mimosa genus; A mature giraffe weighs from 1,750 to 2,800 pounds, and they have an average lifespan of 25 years. This led to their species name being camelopardalis. They’re classified as a species of the artiodactyla order, along with about 220 other mammals. Giraffes are known as browsers and enjoy exclusive vip access to the freshest leaves from the tallest treetops.
The giraffe and okapi are the only two members of the giraffidae family.
